Now that things have settled down and I am able to reflect back on last week, I want to take a minute and express our gratitude. In working behind the scenes for our Board Meetings - I know what it takes, how many people are involved and all the details surrounding an event to ensure things run smoothly. So, I want to be sure and express my gratitude regarding your amazing staff at Sunriver.
Each interaction with your staff members (from the Chef, IT Department, servers, and room set up crew to your housekeepers) was positive and they were all tremendously helpful. I appreciated their gracious attitudes and most of all flexibility. That made such a huge difference in enabling us to make any last-minute changes we needed and to allow things to run smoothly.
So, thank you for hiring such an amazing crew of people who truly love their job and it shows. Thank you both for all your help in the logistics around housing and meeting space as well. You’ve both been a pleasure to work with.

I have so many wonderful things to say about this resort. Our guests really enjoyed the resort and all the things to do! A few guests said it was like camp for adults as well as for their children. We had many compliments on the food as well. We had a few special dietaries, and the remarks on the quality of food of those special plates were very high. This program was a little different for me as the resort was catering our offsite dinners. I was very impressed with the organization, and quality of service being so far away from a kitchen.
Without a doubt the greatest part of our month at Sunriver was working with the staff. What a phenomenal team you have there! A few people that really stand out- Melissa Dimeo (AMAZING!!), Megan Roe, Danny Suddith, John McCormick and of course Lindsay Borkowski. There were so many more that made this program successful, but those key people really made it above and beyond. We had many special requests and demanded a lot of attention from the resort. We never once were turned down for any request. The entire staff was very accommodating to our staff and our guests. We received many compliments about the overall staff from our guests as well.Alexis Shelvy | Travel Director | Maritz Global Events Company
We recently held our annual conference at your facility and I cannot rave enough about the entire staff. They are some of the friendliest, hardest working and professional people of any I have ever collaborated with. They never appeared stressed or annoyed...they just got the job done no matter how long it took. What really endeared them to me is how warmly they behaved to me and our staff - they weren't just polite and courteous - they were also very kind.
Any request I made was met with a "can do" confidence and even when I messed up, your staff remained unflappable. They remained smiling even at the end of a long day of moving tables, hoisting heavy trays and dealing with last minute requests. You must be really proud of them and deservedly so. They know their business well, whether it's setting a room, timing the service of a meal to a large group, or responding immediately to a last-minute request......they excel at it all.Linda Peppler | Department Administrator | Oregon Office of Rural Health
In September I was in Bend, Ore., visiting the Sunriver Resort, a Destination Hotels property. My expectations were high, and I was still blown away by the hotel and the area. The hotel is one of the more idyllic places I have been in years.
The number and variety of activities that can be done, either on a personal level or as a teambuilding group activity (which the hotel can arrange), are seemingly limitless. One can go horseback riding, hiking, biking, river rafting, golfing, canoeing, snowshoeing, sleigh riding, and dog sledding, and there are also a myriad of kids' activities. A beautiful spa offers dozens of treatment options. And the hotel will bring in telescopes for groups, or even photography experts. If you are bored there, it is your own fault.
This is the perfect hotel for those groups that want a lot to do or for groups that enjoy bringing their families. It would be ideal for board meetings, corporate retreats, or pretty much any group that wants a memorable meeting in a unique setting.
I was loathing to leave Sunriver, as the serenity there is unmatched. The hotel is luxurious, the service is amazing, the activities are endless, and I cannot wait to go back again.Timothy Arnold, CMP, CMM | Regional Vice President | Dallas, TXHPN Global
This will be our sixth year working with Sunriver, and we couldn't be happier. The professionalism of your staff and their attention to detail helps make our event successful. Whenever we have a need, all we hear from your folks is "that's not a problem". It is also nice to see many of the same faces year after year. You employee retention speaks volumes to how they are treated by management.

Don't be fooled by the misperception that getting to Sunriver is difficult - it's part of the adventure! It's true that many travelers will have to take a quick connecting flight to get to the Bend/Redmond Airport, but the ride is only ---- minutes long. Passengers can use this time to take in the phenomenal views flying over the gorgeous Pacific Northwest. Once you land, the drive to the resort only gets better - the scenery is simply breathtaking.
Gems like Sunriver are rarely close to the hustle and bustle of urban life and airports. If you're looking for a little slice of paradise, make the trip - you won't be disappointed!Jomy Tan | Meeting Planner | Chicago, IL | Delta Dental Plans Association
Great place for group meetings. Meeting rooms are great, in an inspiring mountain setting. Service was VERY good. Guest rooms/accommodations very good. Many services available for combined business/pleasure. Sunriver makes for a great offsite meeting location.

What a great fly-in destination! It was an easy, picturesque trip from Palo Alto in my Mooney 201. There's an instrument approach (two, actually) to the mile-long runway. Gas is reasonable, either self-serve or from the truck. It's a short walk from the airport to the lodge and the resort is self-contained, so you don't need a car while you're there. I'm already looking for an excuse for my next visit.
