Sponsored by NASA and featuring over a dozen telescopes, the Oregon Observatory at Sunriver Resort is the largest of its kind in the country and a must-visit destination for every visitor to the area.

Look to the Stars

Officially designated an International Dark Sky Place, Sunriver’s elevation and clean air make it the perfect spot for stargazing. From crystal clear views of the moon and planets, to star clusters and nebulae, the observatory’s views are a thrill for first-time stargazers and amateur astronomers alike.

Planetarium Shows & Stargazing

Enjoy an interpreter-led guided tour of the solar system with the Sunriver Observatory. Bring the whole family to the inflatable planetarium set up Friday evenings at the resort for two shows lasting 25 minutes each. Or, join an astronomy interpreter at the Sunriver Resort Backyard every Friday evening to look at star clusters, galaxies and more through one of the observatory’s high-quality telescopes.
